Sources
Every record on the map names where it comes from. This page gathers those namings in one place — the primary texts first, then the working library. Where sources disagree, the map says so on the record itself rather than smoothing it here.
Named on the map
Collected from the one hundred and forty-seven records, grouped by the system that cites them. A text appears once per system even when many records lean on it.

Editions and libraries
Sanskrit texts are checked against the GRETIL archive and the Muktabodha Indological Research Institute's IAST library before a chapter-and-verse citation is locked; the Aṣṭāvakra Gītā's Devanagari was transliterated from the sanskritdocuments ITX source. Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra references follow the received Parāśari corpus — "classical" for BPHS means within that corpus, not demonstrably ancient, and the map marks the difference wherever it matters. Chart computation runs on the Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanāṃśa, the Indian national standard; why that is a choice rather than a fact is the Fork.
How claims are tagged
Three tags run through the whole site. Classical — the claim stands in a named text, cited. Later addition — a modern overlay presented honestly as one, however popular. Sources differ — the tradition itself holds more than one account, and the record reports the disagreement instead of resolving it. The deeper you read, the more the records separate this from that rather than declaring this is that.
